Beginner Foil fencing course designed for youth with no prior fencing and little to no athletic experience.  The course is taught by experienced fencing coaches and initially covers safety and etiquette, familarization with fencing equipment, and rules of the sport.  Weekly classes progress through basic stances and footwork, bladework, and simple tactics.  The goal of the class is to provide a well rounded introduction to Foil fencing with plenty of opportunities for supervised bouting and is a prerequisite to joining West Michigan Fencing Academy's continuing youth program.

Athletic attire is required for all classes (t-shirt, athletic pants and clean shoes).  WMFA will charge an additional $25 equipment rental fee due by the second week of the course.  The equipment fee will be waived for participants using their own non-electric fencing equipment (subject to conformity with USFA safety regulations).
